Story
I wanted to do something this year as a personal challenge. I have never been a runner and still to this day I have a love / hate relationship with it (mainly hate) but I’m determined to fight those negative thoughts running through my head every time I put my trainers on and get out of my ‘fear zone’!
I’ve chosen to run for the Southampton’s Children’s Hospital charity as it is a charity very close to my heart.
My little niece Beatrix (Bea as she is known to us) has been in and out of the hospital since birth and will continue to receive regular treatment for the foreseeable future. As a visiting auntie, I’ve witnessed all the amazing work from the staff at the SCH and what a difference this can make to families.
Southampton’s Children Hospital currently have
plans to renovate the children’s play area in the department. The playrooms are used by children in their rehab, but also by the little brothers and sisters of those that are recovering; including my 3-year-old nephew Arthur. I’ve seen first-hand the joy and relief that these play rooms provide to the young ones and this renovation will ensure these facilities continue to put smiles on these little one’s faces!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my page and any support you can give would be much appreciated.

Thank you very much for your kind gift which will help to refurbish the playrooms at Southampton Children's Hospital. Play is how children learn and experience the world. Your gift means that children will have the opportunity for play - and a space to be calm and relax during a difficult hospital stay. Thank you very much for your support.
