On March 3rd I will be jetting off to Paris to run the half marathon. When I signed up I was just an occasional runner and have now been following a training programme for about a month. I'm about half way there-this weekend I ran 7 miles in a very snowy Regent's Park-and although at times it's been very painful, I'm hoping for a not totally embarrassing time!!

I've chosen Macmillan Cancer Support to run for as it's a charity that is personal for me. They provided amazing support to my Grandma when she was ill and their work is completely invaluable. I've always wanted to give something back and I'm hoping with everyone's support I can make that possible!

So even though I've never even got close to running 13.2 miles I am determined to do it in 6 weeks time without falling on my face. Knowing I'm doing it for a great cause will hopefully spur me on when I feel like giving up and eating a croissant at mile 3.
