As November is lung cancer awareness month I am taking part in Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation's iconic Swimming the Distance challenge, hoping to raise money and awareness for the only UK charity dedicated to supporting everybody affected by lung cancer.

I will swim in honour of my Dad, Roger Benjamin who we lost 3 years ago on 17th November 2021 to this rotten disease. I have committed to swimming at least 10K , 400 lengths, in my free time by November 30th.

Daddy Roger slipped through the net due to lack of lung cancer screening in our area, I believe we would have had more time if his cancer had been diagnosed much sooner. The Roy Castle Lung Foundation are continuously campaigning for a national lung cancer screening programme to be rolled out to more areas.

Every penny is appreciated and will go towards those affected by this dreadful disease.
