As a volunteer, you will deliver the SwimTayka Method youth education program in Drowning Prevention and Water Stewardship. The programme is a hands-on, youth education module for children ages 4-14, to teach basic swimming skills & water safety.

Story

I have been teaching swimming for over 13 years and love my job, when I heard about Swim Tayka I had to get involved.  A rural community on the south coast of Jamaica called Treasure Beach will be provided free swimming lessons to children aged 4+, and recently adults. This coastal community had no access to a public pool or swimming lessons until recently, and this has led to multiple incidents of drowning. Your support means that we can continue this incredible work, and teach children the life skills in swimming lessons for free. SwimTayka believes that no child should be denied access to water safety based on their economic status. Being rewarded with the smiles and laughs of the young children as they learn to live safely alongside the water, paired with the knowledge that our work will save lives, is all the motivation we need to continue to work towards our future goals in the coming years. We have been able to reach out to over 8,000 children and hope to continue to help many more.

£1500 would help towards the cost of equipment needed and training
