Every day too many children and their families face health issues and battles to fight. Life is cruel but for a child to be sick is beyond cruel.

These amazing people - and many like them - at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital dedicate their lives to helping such children and their families overcome their battles, help, reassure and make it all 'a bit less scary' for the kids involved.

Back in the 70s - yep, I'm really that old! - I was one of those kids. I remember being left in my crib at hospital and crying for my parents and the nurses to come and comfort me...as young as I was. I remember the fear and the loneliness until my parents and/or the nursing staff came to get me...as young as I was. That sticks with you through life. These amazing people and how reassured they make you feel. 

I was one of the very lucky ones. Thousands go through this and worse but the one constant for all is that reassuring hand that comforts and the treatment they give. Likewise for the families. They need help and reassurance for different but equally powerful reasons - the staff are there for them too.

We need to show our support for these wonderful people and the priceless work they do at Great Ormond Street. Please donate if you possibly can.
