Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We were asked to join a fundraising bike ride to help raise funds for Maggies Cancer care centres. We were both excited to do our bit and help out in any way we can and both up for the adventure of the ride to Paris.

As some people will know we have both been effected by the cruel disease that is cancer. Last year we lost our mum and we were not prepared for the grief and heartache that was to come.

Maggies cancer centres offer free cancer support and information throughout the uk. You can pop into one of their many centres, chat on the phone or go along to a local group session. They offer practical and emotional help to people with the disease and also support for friends and family members of someone with cancer.

The original plan was to ride from Porthcawl to Paris covering almost 500miles over 5 days but due to covid19 the ride has been adjusted to travel around the Welsh boarder but still over the 5 days. Covering around 100miles each day is going to be a task on its own but throw in the hills around mid and north Wales and it’s going to make it  interesting. We are doing the ride in a group of 18, some of which are novice riders starting from scratch.

We will be setting off from Porthcawl on the 19th of July and aim to be back on the 23rd of July.

Any donations will be greatly appreciated no matter how big or small.

All funds donated will be going directly to Maggies Centres as the trip is self funded.
