The big boys' bike ride or is it the boys' big bike ride?

I'm Mike and I was looking to do something a bit different to challenge me during my period of semi-retirement... so I decided to do LEJOG; the 1,000 mile cycle from Land’s End to John O’ Groats.
Richard, whom I worked alongside back in the days of Scientifics, said he would join me at the Scottish border to do the last bit. Little, however, did he realise at the time that the border was only half way. Alan, another accountant, who is quite good at doing numbers, knew what he was letting himself in for and said he would do the three middle days of the sixteen days............wise man!
So that’s the background to this mid-life crisis and, as Richard has pulled rank, we have decided to make Columba 1400, http://www.columba1400.com/, the beneficiary of LEJOG. This charity has been chosen because it does amazing work with young people “to realise that they already have the inner greatness and confidence to transform their own lives and the lives of those around them”.
We hope that you might be able to support us with any level of donation to assist this charity at a time when, as we all know, charities are finding funding ever more challenging. Thank you from the three of us............RAM !
LEJOG starts on Tuesday 15 May and ends on Thursday 31 May....hopefully!
