Master Glover’s Ascent of Snowdon · 21 September 2021

The Company of Glovers is currently fundraising to extend our programme of donating prosthetics to adults and children who have significant upper limb differences -working closely with leading edge companies to improve lives for those in real need.

Story

Welcome to my Just Giving page.

Beverley Gormley recently raised enough money with help from the Worshipful Company of Glovers of London to purchase a Hero Arm.

These fantastic moving arms, made by Open Bionics, revolutionise the lives of those fortunate enough to receive one.

Beverley and I are planning to climb Mount Snowdon in September this year to raise funds for those with upper limb differences, so that they can receive their own myo-electric limb or “Hero Arm”.

Vikki Smith, a young teacher, was our first recipient & this year we are actively raising money for others including Susan Neill. Her story can be seen on our campaign website.

As a septuagenarian with artificial replacements in both hips, I also know a little about the challenges of limb restrictions and am very proud to be attempting this ascent along with Beverley, especially as we are hoping that others will follow our example and undertake their own virtual climbs to make profound improvements to the lives of those who would benefit from this vital support.

Please support our cause by donating via this website. If you are interested in taking up a virtual challenge, please follow this link to our Fundraising pack:

This pack gives many ideas on how you could create a virtual climb and help us to change more peoples lives for the better.
