London Marathon 2018 · 22 April 2018 ·

We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 22 April 2018 I will be pulling on a different sort of purple vest and running the London Marathon for Great Ormond St Hospital (GOSH). Although I am a regular runner with my club Little Baddow this will be the first time I have run a marathon. Eeek! Rest assured I am as nervous as the next person about whether I will make the full distance!

GOSH is a charity close to my heart as I went there as a young child and but for them I probably wouldn't be able to live the fun and fulfilling life I have today. A number of friends were also patients of the hospital as young children and nowadays even some of those same friends have children of their own who have been treated there. Serious illness is an awful thing at any stage of life but for young children who are only just starting off in life it can seem even more unfair. The Hospital does an amazing job in looking after their brave young patients and often carries out pioneering work in treating children suffering with conditions that might otherwise be life limiting. GOSH is a brilliant cause so please get donating!
