World's Big Sleep Out Chicago 2019 · 7 December 2019 ·
Homelessness is a global challenge. The United Nations estimates 1.1 billion people live in inadequate housing. The best data available suggest more than 100 million people have no housing at all.
On Dec. 7, I will sleep out on DePaul's Quad as part of The World's Big Sleep Out in support of the Institute of Global Homelessness and other local and global groups working to help people experiencing homelessness.
For one night, in backyards and iconic locations across the globe, we are joining an expected 50,000 people to sleep out in unison to create the worlds largest display of solidarity and support of those experiencing homelessness and displacement. While sleeping out for one night will not solve homelessness, it's a start.
Please consider donating to help raise the life-saving funds needed to help homeless and displaced people on our doorstep and throughout the world.
This fundraising page is connected to UNICEF USA. UNICEF USA are our Partner in the U.S., meaning all funds raised in the U.S. will be donated to UNICEF USA who will support us in distributing 50 percent back to local homelessness charities and invest funds to tackle the refugee crisis.
