Sponsored hair cut · 14 February 2020
It all started in the summer of 2018, when we had the devastating news that a close family friend Emily Makin was diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative breast cancer at only 27 years old, the summer ended and Robbie refused to have his hair cut before going back to school. Initially I didn't question this but as time went on he became more and more insistent that he didn't want it cut. Eventually after a lot of probing he told me that he was saving it to give to our friend Emily, who was now losing her hair, as sweet as this gesture was the reality was that his hair would never grow enough in time to be of any use to her. I then started researching whether or not he could still donate his hair. We came across the little princess trust so he committed to growing it long enough to donate to them. As a teenager he has been teased about his hair getting longer and longer over the past year and a half but has remained adiment that he wants to help a child or young person going through the worst situation. Thankfully our friend made it through her treatment but that wasnt to be the only time we had to watch someone suffer cancer. Unfortunately a friend of mine had the devastating new that her son had cancer for the second time. This is Ben Cull who is only 21 and has decided to raise funds for the teenage cancer trust. Robbie has decided to get the cut sponsored so he can also show his support to Ben.
