Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. There are so many worthy causes and charities that I thought I should just explain why I am supporting Dementia UK.
In March 2014 my mother lost her long battle with dementia. It is hard to know exactly how long she lived with the disease, but I would estimate at least 10 years. My mother was full of life, love and laughter, but dementia took all of that away in what was a gradual, relentless, and ultimately heartbreaking process. By the time she passed away she was housebound, unable to do anything for herself, and without even a flicker of recognition in her eyes. It was only thanks to the love and care of my father and my sister that mum was able to stay at home with her family until the very last hours of her life. I am therefore aiming to raise money for a charity that is committed to supporting others who are battling with this condition. I hope that you are able to support me.
