We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Thank you visiting my page and watching this video.

2 days before Christmas last year I was diagnosed with testicular cancer, I was 38. Like many I never ever thought ‘it might be me’.

But the statistics around the disease highlight how much of a young man’s disease it is.

There’s been a 24% increase over the last 30 years, there are 2292 cases a year and the age most men get it? 30-34.

Survival rates are improving, 91% of men do survive; and I had my operation in Jan and further chemotherapy treatment in Feb and I’m currently under active surveillance for 5 years.

But I want to do something to help; to help by raising money to fund research into new lifesaving treatments, new ways to prevent the disease, and to hopefully save more lives.

I’ve decided to do a 2-week Duathlon. I added all the stats together and converted to miles its 364 miles….

So, I’m going to run & cycle 364 miles……I’m going to do an 8mile run & 18 mile cycle every day for 14 days…

I will be starting on the 10th of Dec and finishing on my 40th birthday on 23rd December. Which also marks the 1 year anniversary of my diagnosis.

If you can donate that would mean so much, and feel free to join me in person or virtually by posting your run or cycle on Strava or Garmin.

Above all else - Please check your balls regularly and if you are worried about anything please talk to your doctor. It’s always good to talk and open up.

Thanks for reading – remember check your balls
