Story
One week to go and after a small scare over a strained achilles i'm looking forward to the big day. Thank you everyone for your support as it has definitely helped me motivate myself to keep on going.
If anyone would like to come and support me and the other 11,999 idiots give me a shout and I will give you some more details.
Thanks Robin
P.S. I promise to stop harassing you all now!
Well hello there all of you.
As you may or may not know me, I am (was) by no means a natural runner!
As I turned 30 this year I thought it might be a great idea to run a marathon. Easy right? Wrong.
Living in Kemptown in Brighton, I have naturally have gone for the Brighton Marathon which will take place for the first time on the 18th of April this year.
For the last few months I have been spending my weeks plodding along the front of Brighton seafront and on Sundays a special treat along the cliffs and cross countries in the snow. Mmm relaxing! So far I am up to running about 25 miles per week with around 14 (now 20) miles of that being on the Sunday itself. This is all set to increase the closer to the marathon it gets.*Update 14/03/2010 Ran 18.5 miles this morning and feel suitably exhausted!!!*
In preparation for the Marathon I will taking part in 2 half Marathons;
The Brighton Beacon Half Marathon on the 21st of February (completed in 2:04:43! check out the photos)
The Hastings Half Marathon on the 21st of March (completed in 1:59:17! My new PB)
Any support to my charity of choice Cancer Research UK would be much appreciated
