Yorkshire Challenge 2021 · 17 July 2021 to 18 July 2021 ·

At Christians Against Poverty, we equip local churches to support people facing debt and other financial challenges. We campaign for a redesigned society that works for everyone, including those on the lowest incomes. Find out more about us at capuk.org or follow us on social media.

Story

Look, let's not mess about, I like running anyway, and 28km is far, but I've done marathons and all that, so it's not really that far by comparison, so in all honesty this event will just be a load of fun with a BBQ at the end. Having said that, 530m of upness is quite a lot, and these are some hardcore Yorkshire hills, so I expect i'll hate it but pretend it was ace at the end. But really this is about raising funds for CAP...

I work for CAP, so I'm biased, but this is a charity that meets people right where they are, 20,000 people a year, in their desperation, weighed down by debt and often everything else life can throw at you.  Here's some quotes from famous people https://capuk.org/our-impact/what-others-say .  It's got 'Christians' in the title because the charity is run by Christians, and the regional centres are run via local churches, but we help people of all faith and none, with zero discrimination.

Chuck some notes my way if you can and I will run my heart out in my not remotely protective skimpy CAP singlet and push push push to raise as much money as possible to this charity that is very very close to my (extremely fit) heart.

EXTRA MOTIVATION: I'm the 2018 UK Pun Champion and 3 time finalist, so if you donate, and leave a comment with a key word or three, I'll make a pun / joke with those key words in it and post it on my updates.

Thanks, Rob.
