At a time when a quarter of the population experience mental health problems, the Co-op has announced a new charity partnership to support its commitment to tackle mental wellbeing for its colleagues and communities.

Story

In June 2022 I will be embarking on a 5 day trip to trek through the Atlas Mountains in Morocco to North Africa's  highest peak the famous Mt Toubkal at 4,167 m (13,671 feet) along with a group of my colleagues.

This will be the biggest challenge I have done, but believe coming out of the global pandemic it is extremely important to support charities such as SAMH who provide an invaluable service supporting people who have been affected by mental health and promote wellbeing in our communities.

SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) is Scotland's largest mental health charity and believe there is no health without mental health. SAMH has represented the voice of people most affected by mental health problems in Scotland for more than 90 years.SAMH currently operates over 60 services in communities across Scotland supporting more than 3,500 people through recovery focused community services which provide mental health social care support, addictions and employment services, among others. These services together with national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention, sport and physical activity; inform SAMHs policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.SAMH is dedicated to mental health and wellbeing for all: with a vision of a society where people are able to live their lives fully, regardless of present or past circumstances.
