Story

Updated on Sep 17th 2012 at 9:32 AM from the JustGiving API

Well I did it! 2 hours 54minutes. Thanking everyone who has donated to the The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. It WILL make a difference. We had a very moving moment when we met Elsie Robson at the charity tent! Praying this money brings more research into treating cancer, and particularly brain tumours. Thank you again you are the real stars!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm running (yes, I really am!) for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, which is the Newcastle NHS charity that raises funds to support the amazing work of the Freeman Hospital where, for the last 10 months, my sister-in-law Fiona has bravely been combating a malignant brain tumour by undergoing extensive radiotherapy and chemotherapy.  She's winning this battle and it's thanks to the amazing work of the NHS team at the Freeman and RVI in Newcastle.  This is my way of saying thank you to them for taking good care of her, and the many other people who find out each week that they too have cancer.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
