A little while ago a young woman, Heather, talked to our church group about her work in the Middle East, principally in Lebanon, Gaza, Israel and Egypt. They work with local communities helping people of all faiths and none to free themselves from a life of poverty and injustice. Their work is wide ranging, including rehabilitating children with disabilities, providing access to education, training volunteers improve living conditions and health through developing self sufficiency and providing healthcare to remote communities.

The Middle East, I fully accept, is an emotive subject for many but the work of Embrace is about people not politics and about futures not faith.
