As the oldest and longest serving trustee of TVAA, I have decided not to let the charity’s 21^st anniversary pass without a bit of a fundraising effort myself. 

In the light of the new lockdown I shall be trying, over the 28 days of lockdown to get myself a bit fitter (and hopefully shed a few pounds personally and gain a few pounds for TVAA) by completing 21 hours on my exercise bike.  That means an average of 45 minutes every day including weekends – quite a tall order!.  I hope the bike can make it – it’s at least 25 years old!

I have made a good start with a full hour on the bike on each of the last 5 days, which means only 16 more hours to go (that’s 960 more minutes).  

I may try to finish with a real bike ride from my High Wycombe home to Stokenchurch House, TVAA’s HQ, on 3^rd December (or later if the weather on 3^rd is terrible).

I realise I can’t compete with the amazing effort of the fabulous104 year old Ruth Saunders - for a start I am only about 70% of her age!   However I would welcome sponsorship of a few pounds via my justgiving page.  TVAA is a terrific charity and deserves our support.

I became company secretary of TVAA in August 2011 and became a trustee in July 2014.  After I retire as a trustee next year I hope to continue to support some of TVAA’s fundraising events as a ‘volunteer’
