Story
A life long dream is about to come true for me as I set off to try make the lives longer for some in Yemen right now. As with six babies dying every two hours and 130 children under 5 dying each day it’s hard not to read this and feel utterly bereft and helpless. So I am so keen to make some difference. With your help I hope.
Having covered the crisis for the past three years, the need to want to help became so great for me that I was determined to overcome or manage the health challenges which stood in my path and do something big enough that I could ask you my friends, family and colleagues to help me raise much needed funds to help these, the most vulnerable in our (global) community.
So I have decided to trek up Machu Picchu in Peru for four days (not the train)! Somewhere I have wanted to visit since I was a child and almost did pre vertigo kicking in. Then there were times in the last two years I wondered if I would ever be well enough again to do life’s basics let alone this. Some will no doubt call me crazy to try and climb a mountain whilst still recovering from a condition that involves dizziness at heights and wheezing, but I feel blessed and am thrilled both my specialists have okayed me going.
Crucially, and I have done my due diligence, ALL the money I raise will go to Yemen via Penny Appeal to those who need it most. Through medical supplies at a time half a million lives have been lost to cholera, and to simply feeding families at a time almost 100 thousand children have died from starvation there in three years.
So please 🙏🏻 help me help them. The link to sponsor me is below and will only take you a few moments. I have to raise £3000 in the next two months and £4000 by October when we depart! That’s not too much if everyone reading my post is able to help with a little. Thank you all so much in advance for reading and hopefully considering this request 🙏🏻.
