Last November I took my first trip with mellon educate To South Africa to build schools and lay the foundations for education programs for impoverished children to get access to good education. It was by far the best thing I have ever done in my life.  Today, too many children are going to school in substandard environments with systems that don't get them educated to a standard that allows them to improve their lives. Myself, Andrew Thomas, my friend Jon Kelly ( he came last year for the first time too) and a few others will be going again and my aim is to raise enough money for us to go again. I'll be running a few half marathons and plan to walk as much of the Camino way as possible - I would appreciate it if you could sponsor me and my team. I am so passionate about this ongoing project which you will have seen from my social media. 

The aim is to change the lives of as many school children and their families as possible. The 2017 Building Blitz is how we'll contribute. For one week in November I will leave my comfort zone again , travel to South Africa and join volunteers where we will wear steel toed boots and hard hats on a construction site.

Mellon Educate build schools  but the help doesn't end there. A team of professional educators and administrators follow the build into the school and raise the standard of teaching so that children succeed to an international standard for their age group. This is sustainable education that will change lives.
