Fundraising for Sense
Story

We are running our first full marathon... The London Marathon in 2018. Nikki received a ballot entry and the wonderful team at Sense has given me a chance to run with her in return for fundraising.
As some of you may already know Nikki and her twin sister always had trouble with their hearing. When she was 11 she suffered a severe ear infection which ended in a perforated ear drum that cost 90% of the hearing in her left ear. Late 2016 thanks to lots of persuasion she underwent a myringoplasty operation to get this corrected.
So knowing what it feels like to live nearly 20 years with partial hearing it allows us to help others in worse situations than herself.
Sense is a national charity that supports people who are deafblind, have sensory impairments or complex needs, to enjoy more independent lives. Their expertise in supporting individuals with communication needs benefits people of all ages, as well as their families and carers.
