Story

In May this year I became a volunteer lifeguard at Moseley Road Baths in Birmingham. The RLSS National Pool Lifeguard qualification included first aid, CPR and Defibrillator training. This is something I’ve always admired as a skill in others and felt should be taught to everyone regularly in the workplace and socially for improved early response in emergencies. This is a great way to raise awareness of the importance of CPR and Defibs and hopefully increase training and confidence in using these lifesaving skills......

In 2020 RLSS UK launched our first ever non-stop CPR Challenge.Over 26-hours, 104 people completed a ten-minute, compression only CPR slot. All from their homes. People used manikins, pillows and even teddy bears to take part in the physically demanding and fun exercise that connected our communities across the UK and IrelandThis year we are going even bigger. Connecting RLSS UK with 10 of our RLSS partners around the Commonwealth starting on #WorldHeartDay Wednesday 29 September 2021 for an epic 48-Hour CPR marathon to raise the profile of the importance of community lifesaving and good heart health.
