Story

Thank you for looking at my just giving page, even by just reading this it is spreading the word to more people about Ankylosing Spondylitis.

Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) is a chronic, painful, incurable inflammatory arthritis that affects mainly the spine but can affect the whole body when inflammation occurs. This affects 1 in 200 people but still very few know about the condition or the massive impact it can have on people. This lack of knowledge is also still in the medical field.

This is a condition my brother was diagnosed with after years of attending the GP not knowing why he was in so much pain. Eventually he was diagnosed but maybe if he had been diagnosed sooner he would have received better treatment at the time.

This isn't a one off miss there is an average delay of 8.5 years from the onset of symptoms to receiving a diagnosis, which leads to a delay in treatment.

NASS is the only charitable organisation for supporting people with AS in the UK and they aim to offor support to people living with the condition and to raise awareness.

So please support my 10k to help raise funds for treatment to help people suffering with AS!

About the charity

NASS is only charity in the UK dedicated to supporting people with axial spondyloarthritis (AS), a painful, progressive rheumatic disease which mainly affects the spine. An estimated 200,000 people live with AS in the UK. Our 90+ branches across the UK offer regular exercise to anyone with AS.
