Story
Firstly I'd like to say a big helloooo and thankyou so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've recently signed up for the Bath half Marathon in March 2012 to raise money for the guide dogs charity, my Grandparents (who used to look after a guide dog and regularly fundraise for the guide dogs charity) have encouraged me to get involved...so here I am!
I'm not exactly the fittest of fiddles and can't quite remember the last time I willingly ran anywhere so this is gunna be an intense physical challenge...which also means the possiblity of entertaining photos of me struggling for breath and approaching my own demise throughout the marathon.Ohhhh dear, but it's all for a very good cause indeed so I'm willing to face the humiliation!
Below are some guide dog based facts for y'all:
It costs over £5,000 to breed and puppy walk each guide dog puppy and the lifetime cost of a guide dog is nearly £50,000!!
The guide dog service transforms the lives of around 4,500 blind and partially sighted people every year!!
The guide dog service receives no government funding so we need your help.
Anyhow, aside from these fascinating facts I know how tight money can be in this current economic climate and I'm aware of how you may often feel badgered by charity muggers but if you can spare a few pennies for such a wonderful cause it would be very much appreciated by everyone involved with the guide dogs for the blind charity :D
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
P.S: GUIDE DOGS ARE AWESOME!
Thankyou so much for your time
Ruby xx
