Gary, Pete and Nick will bravely be taking part In a Charity sky dive as We are trying to raise money and awareness for Child Growth Foundation. Our daughter Ruby has been diagnosed with Russell Silver syndrome and Intrauterine  Growth Restriction. This is a growth disorder caused by abnormal genes that control growth. The condition only affects 1 in 75,000 people. Ruby was a tiny 4lb 10 when she was born full term and even now at 18 months still wears age 3-6 months clothes. The syndrome can cause lack of appetite, low BMI, undergrowth of one side of the body, low blood sugar levels, delays in motor skills, speech And bone age. A lot of children also need help with feeding via a gastrostomy tube as eating is a huge issue.  Most children with RSS end up needing growth hormones to help them along until they reach puberty age. Ruby also has a moderate hearing loss due to her small features causing congestion resulting in her needed hearing aids. This is just a few examples of the result of the syndrome and as it is a rare condition doctors and specialist are always researching ways to help assist children  and adults it live as normal life as possible.
