Story
We are six fierce women going the extra mile for Ruhama by competing in the Hell & Back race in Kilruddery on the 12th of June!
Ruhama is an NGO who support women impacted by sexual exploitation, prostitution and human trafficking. The service users we work with have gone through incredible trauma, but more importantly they are resilient and brave.
All 6 six of us are strapping on our runners and have started our training to take on Ireland’s Toughest Mental & Physical Endurance Challenge, where we must complete a 13KM trail route crossing rivers and lakes, climbing hills and mountains and crawling through bogs and swamps. To survive, we must conquer all the elements thrown at us, whether that is the temperamental weather conditions, the gruelling natural environment or the torturous man-made obstacles: still it will not be anything close to the suffering, hardship or trauma that the women who access our service have endured. So we believe that Hell & Back is a worthy and difficult challenge.
Please support us to raise funds to provide essential food and clothing vouchers for this very vulnerable and silent cohort of society.
Our target is €3,000. This will enable us to help 60 service users with a €50 food and clothes voucher. The more we raise the more vouchers we can buy.
Please donate and follow us as we train for this event.
