Story
I am honoured to be running the Robin Hood Half Marathon (25.09.22) for Zephyr's. An amazing Nottinghamshire charity that supports bereaved families following a loss of a baby or child at any age.
I came to Zephyr's in early 2020 following the stillbirth of my daughter Ffion on New Year's Eve 2019. It isn't an overstatement to say that Zephyr's saved me from losing my shit on numerous occasions (stillbirth + pandemic = a whole different level of shit) They continued to do this while I was pregnant with my youngest, Tesni, where I went to monthly support sessions with others who were also pregnant after loss. In short, Zephyr's are amazing and I owe them more than this page can provide space for.
I am proud to now be the Chair of Zephyr's, a role which enables me to repay the many kindnesses they showed me, whilst ensuring that others going through similar experiences can receive the very best support. It's a well known fact that 1 in 4 pregnancies end in grief, but still the support on offer can be difficult to access, if it even exists. Nottingham is lucky to have such a dedicated service for it's families.
Zephyr's have been around since 2017, but we have only recently become an independent charity. All of our support services are free to access, and we rely solely on donations, sponsorship and fundraising to make this happen.
So in return for my achy knees I'd love it if you could give as little or as much as you are able to help continue the work of this vital charity.
