We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

On 12th September I said goodbye to one of my most precious friends. Lisa was one of a kind: funny, generous, sarcastic, thoughtful, beautiful, extremely clever and pretty good at expressing her views. I loved her to pieces and she's left a massive hole in my life.

I am passionate about making sure something good comes from the fact a lot of people have lost a very special person from their lives. And that, for me, is raising money for Diabetes UK and ensuring more young people with Type 1 have access to the support and guidance that they need. It's an incredibly complex, difficult, all consuming condition and it's extremely tough to live with.

I will run the Cambridge Half Marathon on 28th February. For me, this is an enormous challenge and will require really hard work. But I've figured four months of tiring runs is nothing compared to a daily battle with Type 1. I will complete it even if I have to crawl round. And your sponsorship will really, really help spur me on.

Please donate anything you can spare. I genuinely mean it when I say that even £1 will make a difference.
