Every day, seven people from across Bristol and beyond will find themselves in need of immediate, critical care from the expert team at Southmead Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Donate today and help our ICU team give the best possible care.

Story

In March 2020, Patrick James passed away due to complications post surgery removing a tumour from his brain.

Pat was a husband, father, son, brother and also a best friend to many. He was one of the most generous and giving people, and in his honour we want to give back anyway we can...so we have decided to run!

For 90% of Patricks illness he was cared for by Southmead ICU. The staff there not only take wonderful care of their patients, but if the loved ones that surround them. They bring a sense of calm to often extremely stressful situations and treated Patrick with the utmost care and dignity throughout his time with them. We feel they are a deserving charity to receive the donations from the half marathon run.
