My Story 

Why am I fundraising? 

This year will mark 12 years since my amazing mum passed away after a two year battle with breast cancer. 

My mum was an inspirational woman and when I talk to people about her now their memories of her are how great a parent she was, her bravery for the duration of her illness and that she had an obsession with Welsh rugby (!) 

Although faced with a battle of epic proportions, my mum still managed to bring up a hyperactive child as a single mother, and do everything with a smile on her face. 

In her memory, and for a great cause, I will be running Bath Half Marathon in March 2019 (13.1 miles), Edinburgh Half Marathon in July 2019 (13.1 miles), Cardiff Half Marathon in September (13.1 miles), and THE marathon in April 2020 (26.2 miles). 

Coppafeel! 

CoppaFeel! is a breast cancer awareness charity, based in London. The charity focuses on promoting early detection of breast cancer by encouraging woman under 30 to regularly check their breasts. 

Their founder, Kris Hallenga, was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer at just 23. 

You may recognise the charity by sight rather than by name as they love to wear a giant boob costume every once in a while!

Ultimately, although there will be a lot of cold miles ahead and some big runs (ever thought about how far 26.2 miles is??? Me either), if a few more people are encouraged to check their boobs because of this, that is reason enough for me.
