In memory of Jennifer Baker

Virtual London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·

We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, raising money in memory of Jen.

On 23rd October 2020 we lost a truly special person in our lives. Jen Baker was a kind, caring, thoughtful friend, sister, daughter, granddaughter, Auntie and Godmother. She’s the one person that could fill you with happiness just by being with her. She wanted the very best for everyone.

There are no words to explain the pain and loss we all feel. Jen had a bright future ahead of her which we would often talk about and get excited about. She truly and honestly deserved the very best. Then all of a sudden it was taken, leaving us all struggling to come to terms with understanding that her bright future won’t happen any more. We are left with an enormous hole in our lives, the heart ache of missing someone so special and the pain of thinking about everything Jen will miss out on.

I will always be grateful for our friendship. Having Cath and Jen ('the twins') beside me for as long as I can remember has made life all the better. That’s why I’ve chosen to raise money for GOSH by running half marathons every month in 2021 and running the London Marathon October 2021... Because without their life saving treatment when Jen was a baby, we wouldn’t have had this remarkable person in our lives. So thank you for giving us Jen. Our strong, kind, funny Jen. Who fought so hard to be here from baby. Exceptional from the start.
