Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running The Great North Run in September. I have never ran any race in my life so a half marathon for my first is pretty massive for me.
I am running for Guide Dogs because they are a charity, that receives no money from the government. It costs them around £55,000 to support a guide dog from birth to retirement.
My uncle Ian who has sadly lost his eyesight has inspired me after a chat with him about this charity and how life changing they have been for him and his family. My Uncle Ian and auntie Pat both dearly admire this charity and don't know what they would have done without them. Ian became blind so quickly and having his guide dog gave him his independence back as well as his confidence and a sense of freedom. Guide Dogs have always been there for them and are always a phone call away at all times. They described them as worth more than winning the lottery.
Every hour In the UK someone looses their sight. This affects all ages from young children to the elderly. Helping to support this charity can make a big difference to their lives.
