Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.  We have all decided to dig out the running shoes and raise money for a charity close to the home and heart.

2 of us (fi and lynds are running the HALF MARATHON holding hands) and we have a mens' team and ladies team running the MARATHON RELAY - they are looking for some super fast times so please donate generously (Bruce Flockhart, Paul Scott, Watty D & Fraser Haldane) and the lovely ladies are...... drum roll ................................ (Kirsty Flockhart, Julie Hogg, Karen Stalker and Bill Hogg) (they promise to be very glamorous unlike their male counterparts!

Anyway on to the IMPORTANT PART......THE RUSSELL HOGG TRUST

Russell Hogg was Scotland’s 3rd most capped International Badminton Player with 117 International Caps who passed away in 2012, at the age of 44 years. Russell represented his Country at every level and was reserve for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

His two passions in life were to play badminton and, in his later years, a true desire to promote disability sport.

The Russell Hogg Trust has been set up according to Russell’s wishes, to support both young aspiring badminton players from the age of 6 years to 16 years and disabled athletes of all ages. The Trust will give priority attention to disadvantaged athletes by supporting them to achieve their personal goals and ambitions and to achieve at the highest possible level.
