Vital equipment for Bonthe hospital
Campaign by Help a Hospital (RCN HMRC Registered)
We hope to equip Bonthe's tiny hospital with the essential equipment necessary to allow a surgeon to perform lifesaving procedures.

Story

Starting on April 12th I am travelling from Addis Ababa, in Ethiopia, to Cape Town, South Africa. En route is Mount Kilimanjaro which I have decided to climb as a personal challenge but also to raise money for the charity, Help a Hospital.

Help a Hospital is a project that a good friend of mine, Paul Shepherd, started whilst volunteering in a Filipino hospital. He realised that a limiting factor in the offered healthcare was the lack of medical equipment. He started the charity and successfully funded the purchase of a defibrillator for the hospital.

Help a Hospital's second venture involves Bonthe hospital in Sierra Leone. The money raised will help purchase equipment for abdominal surgery and caesarean section operations.
