Story
Between the 2nd & 10th November 2019, my dad (David), & myself (Luke), will be trekking 58.4 miles (94km) through the mountains, valleys & jungles of Cambodia. Perhaps you think we're mad, however we have good reason to commit to this physically taxing, yet amazing opportunity.
Our aim is to raise funds for The Salvation Army's Ukraine Vision of Hope Mission 2020 which I will be participating in.
I was part of the Ukraine 2018 Mission, carrying out building work at the Uhniv Home for the elderly - fitting a new kitchen, shower room and toilet facilities, whilst other members of the team ran a medical facility in Uhniv, and kids clubs in Poroshkovo & L'viv.
The 2020 mission will see me returning to Uhniv, to undertake more building work, this time to renovate a Medical Centre. The Centre serves the entire city, and outlying villages, and is an essential lifeline to thousands of people. The building is in desperate need of repair, and its' medical equipment is severely outdated.
Travelling with the Building Team will be trained medical staff to offer much needed medical treatment and expertise.
The 2020 team also plan to run a kids club in Uhniv, as well as another in the town of Kropyvnytskyi (formally known as Kirovograd).
The mission will last for 11 days.
We will be paying all our own costs for Cambodia so that every pound we raise goes towards the Ukraine Mission.
Any donations, large or small, whatever you feel able to give would be greatly appreciated, and will make such a huge difference to those who benefit from our 2020 mission trip.
Thank you so much for considering this worthy cause.
