Fundraising is at the heart of our fight against sepsis. It raises awareness, and sparks the question: “What is sepsis? In this way, fundraising can help prevent thousands of deaths & unnecessary suffering through knowledge & awareness of the symptoms. It also funds our vital support work, Public Awareness, Educating Health Professionals & helping people adjust to life after sepsis through accessing our Support Group network. We also lobby government to support our cause and makes vital changes in areas such as the NHS.
In July 2022 Heidi was admitted to hospital with routine compliant relating to her illness, a couple of days later she contracted Sepsis and extreme septic shock. She was only 11 months old at this point. Heidi ended up in intensive care fighting for her life in an induced coma. Her fingers turned black and her infection was sever but she incredibly managed to pull through. She spent her first birthday in intensive care and an earlier diagnosis would have helped her recover much faster and without the need to be rushed to the intensive care unit. This little girl is an absolute warrior and defied all the odds by kicking sepsis a***. She is such a strong little fighter and I’m so proud of Heidi and her family 💜
I am fundraising to help ensure others do not have to go through what they did. Please donate what you can 🙏
