Story
Fundraising is at the heart of our fight against sepsis.
It raises awareness, and sparks the question: What is sepsis? In this way, fundraising can help prevent thousands of deaths & unnecessary suffering through knowledge & awareness of the symptoms.
Heidi’s Story: Heidi was diagnosed with Hyperinsulinism (the production of too much insulin causing severe hypogleciemia) in November 2021. This involes a lot of hospital visits- during a hospital stay in July 2022 Heidi was fitted with a PICC line to help stabalise her blood sugars, unfortunately Heidi contracted a line infection from the PICC line and from that ended up with Severe sepsis and septic shock. She was rushed to intensive care where she was Intubated for several days. This was by far the scariest time of our lives not knowing if she would be able to beat Sepsis. Luckily for us she did but she still suffers with the after affects now.
if you can donate to this cause i would be extremely grateful as it is very close to our hearts and also extremely important to raise awareness as anyone could contract Sepsis!
thank you!
