Story

Hi my name is Sapphire

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My dad works for Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital, when he told me that he was doing some fundraising for the new paediatrics A&E department, I asked if I could help at all.

I have decided to do a sponsored swimathon. I have set myself a target of 500 lengths, and I have been swimming between 20 and 50 lengths at weekends.

I am nearly at my target and on Saturday 5th of June I will swim the last 50 lengths with my dad, who will be swimming all his 500 lengths in one go!!!!! Between the two of us we will have swum 20k!!

If I reach my target the money will buy 2 special projectors called Snoozling machines for the sensory room! They help make A&E less scary for children by projecting special images on the walls that will make the children feel more at home. I remember the times I have spent in hospital and even though the doctors and nurses were great and helped me get better it was still scary. So anything we can do make a childs stay easier would be great

Whatever you can afford will be a great help.
