Story
We all met as a team on our new course at Salford University; we all study Mental health nursing and for all of us mental health means something different. We are aiming to run around 240 kilometres over a period of 24 hours in a relay type race; each team member will aim to run 30 kilometres in total over a challenging 10 kilometre circuit.
Whilst we all have our own personal motivations for doing this gruelling event we all have one common goal:
We want to push ourselves, our bodies and our minds in order to raise awareness, raise money for the Mental health charity MIND and inspire conversation and debate about what Mental Health is and how it affects us all.
MIND charity is an amazing organisation which works expertly and tirelessly to change the face of mental health in this country. Mental health is such a broad, unknown and for that reason unspoken of subject at times. MIND charity not only improves the lives of countless people who suffer from mental health conditions but it leads the line when it comes to the promotion of positive and constructive conversation around what it means to suffer, to recover and to grow stronger in the face of mental health.
As a team we will be endlessly grateful for you to stay updated with our story over the next 30 days, to listen and hopefully learn something new about Mental Health. We have set ourselves the target of £1000 pounds to raise before the 23rd of July which will go to MIND and towards empowering those who suffer with Mental Health conditions or those affected by them. We welcome all donations, especially massive ones, but each pound goes towards something so positive; something we can see happening, something traceable and important to all of us - If you have read this far you've already done the hard bit: Please DONATE.
Thanks
