Story
I'm doing a thing! This October, I’m taking on the Walk One Mile a Day challenge to raise vital funds for lung cancer support and research.
Not so long back I'd easily skip through many miles a day dog walking, but with Emphysema taking me down to about 45% Lung capacity, and then subsequent treatment for Lung Cancer taking me down some more, it's a big thing in my World! Good days, bad days, but I'm alive and enjoying it and this is even more of an incentive to keep moving and enjoy that great outdoors.
I’ll walk at least a mile every day, in my own time and in my own way, turning each step into support.
The money raised through this challenge will help fund life-saving research, provide comfort and care to patients, and ensure no one has to face this disease alone. I’m walking for those who can’t, and for the hope of a better future. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to a world where lung cancer is caught earlier, treated more gently, and survived more often.
I was so fortunate to be rapidly diagnosed and treated, and offered incredible support and compassion and care throughout the whole Cancer treatment journey. Now thankfully in remission, it doesn't end there and feels like the start of another journey, where I can try and make a difference.
I'll update you on my walking wanderings over the month. Ohh, exciting, eh? 😍
Together, we can walk toward change and a huge thank you for any donations along the way! 💖🫁
