As most of you know I am a Trustee of the Leeds Charitable Foundation and the run is my personal attempt to raise a little towards the £10,000,000 target we have set ourselves for the new Yorkshire Cancer Centre.

The Yorkshire Cancer Centre is currently being built in Leeds.  It will provide cancer care in Yorkshire that will be second to none. Our aim at present is to raise money for environmental projects so patients have an environment in which they can better recover from their illness. Whilst the NHS provide the basics we hope to provide additional facilities and have a wonderful opportunity to do so whilst the Centre is being built. At present we are concentrating on light boxes in the corridors, and gardens in which patients can relax, but there are many other environmental projects to support.

This is only part of our fundraising.  Apart from the environment we aim to provide equpiment that cannot otherwise be provided and research facilities.
