Story

Anyone who knows me will know that running the Great Manchester 10K will be a HUGE challenge! 4 of us have challenged ourselves to do this in memory of my mum and the care she received from St Ann's Hospice when she needed it the most. This is a fantastic charity who provide an exceptional standard of care and support and who made a very difficult time, a little bit easier.

My mum was 57 years old and lost her life to lung cancer in June, 2020, we miss her every single day. The care she received at St Ann's Hospice was amazing, they managed her symptoms and gave her the confidence to spend her final days at home where she wanted to be, with the people she loved dearly. I will always be grateful for the support she received and this is a way for us to do something to help to show our gratitude. I will be doing this with my brother Adam, My son Daniel and my niece Hannah (they can actually run!!!), I am going to try my best to train for this as I would love to be able to actually run it ... (I am currently at Couch to 5K week 1 run 1 standard!). I know it wont be easy but I have the best motivation to achieve this and would love to raise as much as I can for St Ann's. The run is not until September 26th so I have plenty of time to get practising!!

Any donations, however large or small would be very gratefully received for this amazing service. Thank you in advance for your support.
