Hi there, 

Myself and six other mates are challenging ourselves to run the 2023 Barcelona marathon on the 19th of March 2023. 

We have always been a sporty set of mates however over the past couple of years we have let our fitness standards slip with all that comes with being in our early 20's. So when the chance and challenge came up to run a marathon we all enthusiastically signed up! Of course the appeal of running the marathon in Barcelona and also making a weekend of it added to our enthusiasm. 

However all of this is for a cause. Each of us has chosen a charity to run for. I have elected to run for Cancer Research UK. This is a charity that has a real ability to change in a positive way peoples lives.I have been unfortunate enough to to see what effect  this illness has had on some great friends and family. So running this marathon is the least I can do to hopefully raise some money for a great cause. .

Any donation is greatly appreciated and will go a long way to helping Cancer Research UK
