Story
On Sunday 19th May 2019, I’ll be running the Manchester Half Marathon for an incredible charity called CALM in memory of Darrell Pattison
The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK.
Their goal is a life less miserable for you, your friends, your family and for all men.
The reason I’ve signed up for this event is to raise awareness for people that are suffering with mental health issues and hopefully I can raise money along the way to support a cause that it is very close to my heart.
I know a lot of people that have suffered and are currently suffering with mental health problems but most recently I lost a great friend due to this.
Darrell was 21 years old and one of the most incredible people you could ever meet. His wit & humour would keep me on my toes every day and I'd even describe him as the annoying little brother that I never had and yet I could never stop loving. He was the daftest but strongest person I have ever came across in my life and I'll never forget him. The impact he had on my life is so significant, I'll always love him and miss him every day.
So on Sunday the 19th May, I hope you're watching me and I hope I make you proud mate!
