Story
Sands United FC Ipswich are a support group that supports men who have gone through the heartbreak of losing a little one at ante-natal, during or after birth. We use football as a way of bringing men together and provide a support mechanism for them to be around others that understand. It is difficult for men to discuss, with many going throughout the tragedy either not able or feeling they can't discuss it. As men we also believe the most important thing is to support our partner through the excruciating pain of losing a child and then try to work out how to cope, many times, alone.
With this being Baby Loss Awareness Week, we are wanting to raise money to support the Baby Bereavement Group run out of Ipswich and Colchester Hospitals because of its vital role in supporting the family at a time when many people feel lost. Without this many men and women would see their lives become worse. We want to give something back and ensure the group continues to grow to support the many people that need that support.
