On Saturday 16 July I shall be walking the Yorkshire 3 peaks to raise money for the British Red Cross. It's a challenging 23 mile walk taking in 3 mountains (Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Inglebrough) and all for a fantastic cause. The Red Cross came to the fore in the UK-wide floods of 2007 and the Cumbria floods in 2009, providing first aid and food and water deliveries, as well as staffing rest centres for those forced from their homes. The Red Cross also repsonded to teh Asian Tsunami and the 7/7 London bombings. They have thousands of specially trained staff and volunteers who can give practical help, emotional support and first aid to those in need.
