I have chosen to raise money for Elevate Foundation because I've seen how much they are supporting children and young people in our local community with their mental wellbeing. This is my first ever marathon and I am running it for children like mine because I know how tough life can be for them. My son and daughter are 16 and 12 years old and they have at times really struggled with self-esteem and navigating their way through those complicated teenage struggles!  Elevate Foundation provides an amazing mixture of activities and courses which are fun, creative and geared to building up confidence and resilience in young people. They also offer courses and group sessions for parents so that they are also given the tools and skills to best support their children when they are going through difficult times. 

Being a mum and feeling you're doing the best job you can isn't always easy.  If I can raise money to help other parents and their children overcome the struggles life throws at you then I believe I am doing a great and worthwhile thing!
