Story

Having previously only ran for last orders, I am about to embark on the greatest (possibly stupidest) challenge I have ever put myself through- running the London Marathon!

My motivation?
The amazing work that all at Scott House do for the families of our heart heros at the Freeman Hospital.

Founded in 1982, the Sick Children's Trust provide free accommodation for the families of seriously ill children in hospital. In 2014 the Children's Heart Unit at the Freeman Hospital was privileged to see the opening of 'Scott House'. Having worked at the Freeman for nearly ten years I have witnessed first hand the difference Scott House has made to our families, many of whom have traveled the country to receive the specialist care that Newcastle's heart unit provides. Not only is Scott house comfortable and equipped to an impressive standard, it also provides a safe environment for siblings making it truly possible for families to stay together for what can be many months away from home. Further, the help and support the management staff offer is positively exceptional and they genuinely go above and beyond to provide a 'home from home' for our heart families.

Scott House exists thanks to generous donations made to the Sick Children's Trust. I hope my 26 miles 385 yards can help all those at Scott House to continue their great work.
Thank you for donating, wish me luck!!
