Story
In what would seem another blonde bonkers moment I have decided as I have a bit of a special Birthday in 2020 (21 again - in my dreams), I wanted to set myself and my bike another challenge to celebrate. After completing London 2 Paris in 24 hrs in September 2018 I decided I wanted to ramp things up a bit - hence the Brathay 262 idea. This challenge is going to push me alot further - the aim is to cycle 10 laps around Lake Windermere in 24 hrs. That equates to 262 miles - with 19.500 feet on ascent (basically the same as climbing Mount Kilimanjaro) all to be completed in one day.
As you can imagine this is a pretty BIG challenge for me both physically and mentally, and being a type 1 diabetic will add a few extra challenges along the way too. I'm therefore really hoping that on reading this you will donate and in doing so raise vital funds for "The Brathay Trust" who have organised this fantastic event. This charity is really important in improving the life and chances of children, young people and their families (please see their website for more information on this).
